Objectives
To strengthen students’ communicative competence by providing on going opportunities for oral practice in realistic contexts than lend themselves to communication strategies. By the end of this course students should be able to converse with simple tenses about things in the past present and future
The target for this class is 90% Spanish usage.
To expand the students; knowledge of the culture of Spanish speaking countries. Students will read about culture in Spanish but be allowed to express their ideas related to culture in English (progressing towards Spanish so by Spanish III this can happen all in Spanish)
To Improve reading, writing, speaking, and listening skills Each of these is to be done in contexts that are as close to real-life as possible
Discussions of culture will occur on both Spanish and English. For most chapters students will read about culture in Spanish but be allowed to express their thoughts in English.
